In the National Statuary Hall, there's a "whispering location". Urban myth is that John Quincy Adams, the 5th president of USA and the 1st Presidential Troller of the USA, would pretend to doze off while listening to political rivals talk via the audio trick. If you talk from one point, you can hear the whispers across the room.  There's actually an article written about it that explains the science behind it.
